    Little-visited site on east bank of the Nile north of el-Minya, has Old Kingdom rock-cut tombs ("Fraser Tombs"), plus Ptolemaic, Roman ruins.

El-Bahnasa (Oxyrhynchus, Oxyrhynchonopolis, Per-Medjed)
    Site of capital of 19th Upper Egyptian nome, location of one of the largest papyrii finds in Egypt.  History of site, directions.
